The Tsavliris Cultural Foundation and Ancoria Insurance scholarship award ceremony took place on the 23rd of October at the premises of the Cyprus Institute. The awardee, Asimina Kourouni, MSc student in the Digital Cultural Heritage (DCH) program of The CyI Graduate School was granted a full scholarship.

The work of the Tsavliris Cultural Foundation was presented by its President, George A. Tsavliris, at an impressive event organised by Naftemporiki newspaper on 18 October 2023, at the Eugenidion Foundation to pay tribute to "The Cultural Contribution of Greek Shipowners".

The Tsavliris Cultural Foundation is proudly offering a full scholarship "In Memory of Alexander G. Tsavliris" to commemorate the 50 years since his passing. This is a merit-based scholarship for an undergraduate degree in Greece and amounts to €12,000.

On 3 September 2023, the Bulk Carrier "CARAVOS LIBERTY" (GT 35,812 - DWT 63,301), laden with 60,500 tonnes of Indonesian Steam Coal in Bulk (loaded from Kalimantan area), grounded approx. 50 miles South of Balikpapan, Indonesia. The vessel was en route from Muara Berau Anchorage, East Kalimantan, Indonesia, to Magdalla Port, W.C. India. Tsavliris despatched tugs, utility vessels, Salvage Team and equipment to the assistance of the casualty.

INTERMEPA, the International Marine Environment Protection Association, representing national MEPAs worldwide, unanimously elected Ms. Semiramis Paliou (HELMEPA Chairperson) and Mr. George Tsavliris (CYMEPA Chairman) as Chairperson and Vice-Chairman of INTERMEPA, for the next two years.

Nicolas A. Tsavliris received the "President's Award", the highest "Athens College" distinction, for his invaluable services rendered to the Institution. The special ceremony took place on 12 July 2023. His long-standing and multifaceted services to "Athens College" began in 1973 and include the roles of Treasurer, Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the Board of Directors.

A total of 186 services to vessels carrying 2.6 million tonnes of potentially polluting cargo and fuel were carried out in 2022 clearly showing the critical role of professional salvors in protecting the marine environment. The environmental benefit of the marine salvage industry comes from the only published source of information: the ISU's annual survey which was presented recently.

On 3 July 2023, Tsavliris celebrated the 50th anniversary of Mr Stavros Perdikaris working for the Group. Mr Perdikaris serves as Financial Director for the company, a challenging and demanding position he holds successfully for decades.

Following the highest international standards, Tsavliris Salvage obtained proudly the certification: ISO 22301 by AXIA CERT LTD for Business Continuity Management. The new certification now serves to further strengthen Tsavliris management systems.
Additionally, Tsavliris renewed successfully the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 by Bureau Veritas, with a record of zero incidents at sea and marine pollution:

Tsavliris Salvage received the "Green & Environmental Award" during the prestigious event "Maria Callas Awards 2023" in Monte Carlo on 12 May 2023. Andreas A. Tsavliris represented the company and received the Award from His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco.

On 26 April 2023, the Motor Vessel "HIMALAYA" (GT 1,523 – DWT 2,583), in ballast, experienced engine failure and sheltered/dropped anchor in the area of Kardamyli/Stoupa, Greece. On 28 April 2023, Tsavliris despatched their T/B "HERMES" (BHP 2,725 – BP 41) from her salvage station in Patras Port, to the assistance of the casualty.

On 3 September 2022, the Motor Yacht "007" struck rocks off Kythnos Island, Greece, and was beached at nearby picturesque Kolones Bay. The yacht grounded, laying semi-sunk on her port side with a list of approximately 80 degrees. Following all safety protocols, the yacht was successfully refloated on 15 March, was then towed to shipyard for repairs and the operation was successfully completed on 27 March 2023.

On 29 March, Tsavliris' S/T "HERMES" participated in the Fire Brigade – Port of Patras Station exercise/drill.

The largest UK marine insurance event is back for 2023, on 24 March. Marine Insurance London is the leading global marine insurance conference. George A. Tsavliris, Principal, Tsavliris Salvage Group, will participate as speaker.

The Greener Shipping Summit 2023 took place this year on 16 March at Eugenides Foundation, Athens. The event was organised by Newsfront / Naftiliaki, under the auspices of MARTECMA. Conference Chairman was George Tsavliris, Principal, Tsavliris Salvage Group.
