TSAVLIRIS SALVAGE was established in 1964 and soon became the largest operator of its kind within the Mediterranean Sea and beyond. By the end of 1969, the company’s fleet of tugs totaled 29 units and was internationally appraised as one of the major players in this demanding shipping sector, maintaining salvage stations in crucial parts of the world. Additional investments in tug acquisitions and strategic partnerships further strengthened the presence of the company worldwide, from the first tug "ALECOS", nicknamed "BOURBOULAS" 10hp, to the "TSAVLIRIS GIANT/FOTIY KRYLOV" 40,000hp, the world's most powerful tug.
