On 12 May 2019, the Bulk Carrier "ACHILLES II" (GRT 38,870 – DWT 75,785), laden with about 63.000 tonnes wheat, immobilised due to main engine breakdown about 75 miles SE of SW Pass Buoy, Mississippi River, Louisiana, USA. The vessel was en route from New Orleans, Westwego Louisiana to Alexandria Egypt. Tsavliris provided salvage assistance and on 18 June the operation was completed successfully.

On 12 May 2019, the Bunkering Tanker "A. MICHEL" (GRT 4,346 – DWT 6,711), laden with 1,660 tonnes IFO 380 and 950 tonnes MGO, whilst anchored at Fujairah B anchorage, UAE, suffered an underwater explosion (reported as sabotage). Another three tankers were affected by similar explosions.

On 2 May 2019, the BC ''CALYPSO" (GRT 40,230 – DWT 73,691), laden with 68,000 tonnes of coal, immobilised about 220 miles SE of Bahia Blanca, Argentina, due to engine problems. The vessel was drifting towards the coast due to adverse current. Tsavliris Salvage was engaged to provide assistance.

Large shipping losses are now at their lowest level this century having declined by over 50% year on year, according to a recent report. A total of 46 large ships were lost worldwide in 2018, down by a record 50% annually and 55% below the 10-year average of 104.

On 5 May 2019, the Tsavliris Cultural Foundation, organised an Art Exhibition, themed “Sea & Shipping” at the Morfi Gallery in Limassol, Cyprus. The Deputy Minister of Shipping, Ms Natasa Pilides, opened the ceremony and the Mayor of Limassol Mr Nicos Nicolaides outlined the importance of the Sea and Shipping for the city of Limassol.

Tsavliris Cultural Foundation organises an Art Exhibition in Limassol with the theme "Sea and Shipping" from 5 to 12 May 2019. The net proceeds from the Exhibition will be used as scholarships for Postgraduate students. The Exhibition will be launched by the Deputy Shipping Minister of Cyprus, the Honourable Ms Natasa Pilides.

-On 11 November 2018, Tsavliris provided salvage assistance to the Suezmax Tanker "ATINA", immobilised due to main engine problem between Kos and Astypalaia islands, Aegean Sea, Greece.
-On 30 December 2018, Tsavliris provided salvage assistance to the Motor Chemical Tanker "ATLANTIC VOYAGER", immobilised about 85 miles west of Lamberts Bay, South Africa, due to engine problems.
-On 10 January 2019, Tsavliris Salvage celebrated its induction into the Green Award Foundation during a Reception at the Yacht Club of Greece.
-On 22 January 2019, Mr George Tsavliris, CYMEPA President, received the "Gold Protector of the Environment" Award by the Honorable President of the Republic of Cyprus.
-On 12 March 2019, Mr George Tsavliris received the 2019 GREEN4SEA Leadership Award at a prestigious award ceremony held at the Yacht Club of Greece.

On 12 March 2019, Mr George Tsavliris received the 2019 GREEN4SEA Leadership Award at a prestigious award ceremony held at the Yacht Club of Greece in Piraeus.
Mr Tsavliris, Chairman of CYMEPA for over two decades, received the award for his leadership role within CYMEPA and other national and international Associations.

Capital Link organised with great success its 3rd Annual Capital Link Cyprus Shipping Forum on 27 February 2019. The Forum took place in Limassol at the Columbia Plaza, under the Auspices of the Cyprus Shipping Deputy Minister to the President and the sponsorship and cooperation of the Cyprus Union of Shipowners. George Tsavliris was the Conference Chairman.

The Piraeus Marine Club held its 18th annual international Protection and Indemnity conference on 31 January 2019. The conference tackled questions over liability, fines and casualty claims following new emissions regulations. Speakers from 11 P&I clubs made presentations, while comments were made by shipping company representatives.

Andreas Tsavliris gave his annual lecture at the City, University of London to over 130 master's degree students on 24 January 2019. The presentation was on "Shipping Trade & Finance" and the topics discussed included the ordering of new buildings, buying and selling second hand vessels, chartering, insurance, banking, financing and currencies.

On 30 December 2018, the Motor Chemical Tanker "ATLANTIC VOYAGER" (GRT 8,513 – DWT 12,807), in ballast condition, immobilised 84 miles west of Lamberts Bay, South Africa, due to engine problems. The vessel was drifting towards the open sea due to the prevailing current. Tsavliris Salvage was engaged to provide assistance. On 11 January, the salvage operation was successfully completed.

CYMEPA was awarded the Gold Environmental Award 2019 during a Pancyprian ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Lefkosia, Cyprus, on 22 January 2019. Mr George Tsavliris, CYMEPA President, received the “Gold Protector of the Environment“ recognition by the Honorable President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr Nicos Anastasiades.

Tsavliris Salvage celebrated its induction into the Green Award Foundation during a Reception at the Yacht Club of Greece on 10 January 2019. The Senior Management of the Green Award Foundation wholeheartedly welcomed Tsavliris Salvage, which offers a series of financial incentives to Green Award member companies, into the scheme.

TSAVLIRIS GROUP celebrated their New Year's "Pita Cutting" event on 14 January 2019. The occasion included the annual blessing and was attended by the TSAVLIRIS family and staff.
