TSAVLIRIS SALVAGE GROUP has witnessed a continued spate of activity following on from the 14 LOF's secured in 2013.

On Saturday 31st May we dispatched salvage tug "MEGAS ALEXANDROS", from her Piraeus salvage station, to the assistance of bulk carrier "TEKTONEOS" (25,899 GT, 43,620 DWT), fully laden with 39,000MT Sulpher in bulk, following engine room fire, about 150 nautical miles South West of Pylos, Greece.

The Steering Committee of the International Marine Environment Protection Association-INTERMEPA convened in Flisvos Marina, Greece on Thursday 5 June in a celebratory mood, as 8 years have passed since its founding in 2006. The celebration had a special gravity, given that it so happened that INTERMEPA's birthday coincided with the International Shipping Exhibition Posidonia.

Posidonia’s increasingly popular sporting calendar saw members of the TSAVLIRIS family take part in both the Shipsoccer and Tennis tournaments.

Alexander G. Tsavliris (1914-1973) was inducted into the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame at the inaugural London event on Monday 24th March 2014.

Mr. George A. Tsavliris was invited as as panelist to the 13th P&I Conference that took place at the Piraeus Marine Club on the 30th of January 2014. The theme Mr Tsavliris' was asked to present was: “This House Believes Club Reserves Are too High In A period When Members Are Faced With A Depressed Freight Market.”

TSAVLIRIS SALVAGE GROUP celebrated their New Year’s “Pitta Cutting” event on Monday 13th January. The occasion included the annual blessing and was attended by all the office staff, close associates, friends and the ever increasing TSAVLIRIS family!

On Thursday 8th August we dispatched salvage tug "UNICORN" to the assistance of bulk carrier "CARMEN SILVA" (16,145 GT, 25,739 DWT), laden with about 23,300 tons of steel/general products, disabled due to main engine problems about 150 miles South East of Sur, Oman.

It is with great pleasure that Tsavliris Salvage Group announces the induction of their founder, Alexander G. Tsavliris, to the Greek Shipping Hall of Fame.

For the 9th consecutive year TSAVLIRIS took to the podium on Friday 29th November to present the "Seafarer of the Year" Award at the 10th Annual Lloyd's List Greek Shipping Awards 2013.

On Friday 15th November, Tsavliris Salvage Group had the pleasure and honour to host a round table lunch with guest speaker Professor Elias Karakitsos at the Piraeus Marine Club.

Around 100 members of Young Shipping Professionals (YSP) Greece, boarded the “Hellas Liberty” in Piraeus on Wednesday, 6th November to attend a conference on “Slow Steaming”.

On Thursday 31st October we dispatched salvage tug "ASTERIX" from Aarhus, to the assistance of bulk carrier "AGHIA MARINA" (17,428 GT, 28,522 DWT), in ballast, immobilized due to engine problems South East of Skagen, Denmark.
