In January 2026, the Bulk Carrier “COMMON CALYPSO” (GT 32,987 - DWT 57,000), laden with Brazilian soyabeans, experienced a main engine problem and was drifting 10 nm E of Salomon Islands, Indian Ocean, while en route from Santos, Brazil, to Chittagong, Bangladesh. On 10 January, Tsavliris mobilised the S/T “Boka Alpine” (BP 200) and on 14 January the towage to Hambantota Port, Sri Lanka commenced. During the voyage, the tow connection had to be replaced due to damage caused by yawing. On 26 January the convoy arrived safely at her destination and the operation was completed successfully.
