The TSAVLIRIS SALVAGE GROUP has added a further ocean salvage tug to its ever-growing fleet. The new acquisition, named "TSAVLIRIS UNITY", was built by Wartsila-Helsinki as DEIMOS in 1983. The 12,000 ihp salvage tug, recently taken over at Dubai, is to undergo upgrading for TSAVLIRIS, and will be fully operational in the Indian Ocean within July. TSAVLIRIS intends to expand its network and chain of salvage stations, preferring dedicated purpose built salvage tugs to other vessels. Ongoing negotiations are expected to culminate in further acquisitions this year.
