On 7 December 2023, the Bulk Carrier "GAZIBEY" (GT 12,192 - DWT 17,786), laden with 9,900 MT Fertilizer (Potassium Chloride Granule), suffered main engine failure and drifted approx. 60 miles off Falmouth, UK. During the incident the vessel was en route from Ust-Luga, Russia to Bayonne, France. Tsavliris despatched the AHTS "ALP STRIKER" (BP 312 - BHP 24,400), arriving at the casualty on 8 December.
Tsavliris Group celebrated their New Year's "Pita Cutting" event on 17 January 2024. The occasion included the traditional annual blessing and was attended by the Tsavliris family and staff.
The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers Greek Branch held its 18th Annual Forum, on 28 November 2023. The title was: "SHIPPING 2024: SAILING WITH WISDOM". Mr Nicolas A. Tsavliris, FICS, Chairman of the ICS Greek Branch and Tsavliris Salvage Group addressed a very warm welcome to the audience, emphasising the importance of wisdom in the shipping industry.
On 27 October 2023, Tsavliris assisted the towage of the Passenger/Cruise Ship “QUEEN of the OCEANS” (GT 77,500) with two of their Patras-based tugboats, namely the "PROTEAS" (BHP 3,200 - BP 45) and the "HERMES" (BHP 2,725 - BP 43). Towage commenced from Patras Port to Platygiali terminal, Astakos Port, Greece.
