On 14 July 2026, the Crude Oil Tanker “BANDA” (GT 56,612 – DWT 105,576), in ballast condition, whilst en route to Novorossiysk, was attacked by drone, approximately 70 miles SW of Novorossiysk, Eastern Black Sea. Tsavliris despatched tugs, salvage team and equipment, towed the casualty to Turkey and on 19 August the operation was completed successfully.  

On 17 August 2026, the Motor Yacht “CAROLINE II” ran aground in shallow waters at Cape Drepano, Corinth Gulf, Peloponese, Greece.
On 19 August, Tsavliris despatched their Patras-based T/B "HERMES" (BHP 2,725 – BP 41), a salvage and a divers team together with salvage and antipollution equipment.

On 10 August 2026, the Bulk Carrier “AERIKO” (GT 35,812 -   DWT 63,500), in ballast condition, grounded at KM 382 Parana River, Argentina. Tsavliris despached the S/T “Brutus” (BHP 1,950) and “Argentino I” (BHP 1,450) from their homeport in Rosario, and a local Salvage Master.

On 4 August 2026, the Motor Yacht “GOD’s GIFT” ran aground in shallow waters at Cape Drepano, Corinth Gulf, Peloponese, Greece. On the same day, Tsavliris despatched their Patras-based T/B "HERMES" (BHP 2,725 – BP 41), refloated successfully and towed the vessel to Patras Port.

Today marks 30 years since the International Convention on Salvage came into force on 14 July 1996. Tsavliris Salvage takes this opportunity to celebrate the importance of this Convention which has had a huge impact on the industry, the marine environment and wider society.

International Salvage Union members safeguarded marine environments by conducted 231 services to vessels carrying potentially polluting cargo and fuel during 2025. Salvage companies prevented 3M tonnes of pollution from the world’s marine environment through emergency towage, refloats and wreck removals in 2025, up almost 600,000 tonnes, or 25%, from 2024.

On 12  March 2026, the Bulk Carrier “KEEPER” (GT 88,955 - DWT 174,674), in laden condition, experienced loss of electrical power, at 126 miles NE of Trincomalee, Sri Lanka, while en route from South Africa to India. On the same day, Tsavliris mobilised the AHT “Boka Expedition” from  Colombo Anchorage, Sri Lanka, arriving at the casualty’s position on 15 March when towage commenced.

In January 2026, Tsavliris arranged for the AHTS “Logindo Sturdy” (BP 150 – BHP 8,000) to tow the Bulk Carrier “BLUERAY” (GT 33,044 – DWT 56,451), in ballast condition, from Pulau Laut Anchorage, Indonesia, to Banten Shipyard, Indonesia.

In January 2026, the Bulk Carrier “COMMON CALYPSO” (GT 32,987 - DWT 57,000), laden with soyabeans, experienced main engine problem and was drifting 10 nm E of Salomon Islands, Indian Ocean. On 10 January, Tsavliris mobilised a salvage tug to the assistance of the vessel.

On 23 January 2026, Tsavliris assisted the Drillship “DISCOVERER INDIA” (GT 65,790 - DWT 63,583) to exit the Platygiali Port, Astakos, Greece, deploying three of its Patras-based tugs “PROTEAS”, “APOLLON” and “HERMES”.

TSAVLIRIS GROUP celebrated their New Year's "Pita Cutting" event on 16 January 2026. The occasion included the traditional annual blessing and was attended by the TSAVLIRIS family and staff. 

In December 2025, Tsavliris towed the LPG Carrier “ECO WIZARD” (GT  26252 - DWT 30062) from Ust Luga, Russia to Riga, Latvia. The casualty was hit on 6 July 2025 by limpet mines which caused two explosions and considerable damage to its hull and engines. Before towage, the casualty had only undergone temporary repairs.

 On 9 December 2025, the U.S. Ambassador to Greece, Ms. Kimberly Guilfoyle visited the historic museum ship “Hellas Liberty" at the Port of Piraeus. Ms Guilfoyle was welcomed by the Minister of Shipping, Mr. Vassilis Kikilias, the President of the “Hellas Liberty”, Mr George Tsavliris and members of the “Friends of Liberty Association”.
