22 Apr 2020 Tsavliris Salvage joins forces with MEMAC in the Middle East

Tsavliris Salvage is officially a licensed member of Marine Emergency Mutual Aid Centre (MEMAC), a marine environmental, intergovernmental organisation based in Bahrain, whose mission is to ensure the environmental protection of the ROPME sea area. The ROPME sea area consists of eight Member States: Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The new collaboration strengthens Tsavliris position in this highly regulated area and will utilise its significant experience through a wide range of services related to marine salvage and towage. 12 Apr 2020 Bulk Carrier "EDELWEISS"

On 23 December 2019, the Bulk Carrier "EDELWEISS" (GT 40,160 – DWT 73,800), loaded with 71,627 tonnes of Indonesian steam coal, ran aground about 200 miles from Taboneo, Indonesia. During the incident the vessel was on a voyage from Taboneo, Indonesia to Yeosu, South Korea, with about 1,500 tonnes bunkers onboard.
Tsavliris were contracted to provide salvage assistance. On 9 March 2020, the 10-week salvage operation was completed successfully.

11 Apr 2020 Bulk Carrier “FIRST I’’

A six-month operation started at the end of October 2019, when the geared Bulk Carrier “FIRST I’’(GT 32,415 - DWT 58,735) sustained rudder damage disabling her in Suez canal. During the incident the vessel was fully laden with 56,000 tonnes of wheat.
Tsavliris were contracted to tow the vessel from Suez Canal to Indonesia and later to Singapore.

Organised with great success for the 3rd consequent time, the Slide2Open Shipping Finance 2020 aimed at producing tangible results, while providing delegates with valuable financial and commercial insight into activities, offerings, best practices and trends. 28 Jan 2020 Bulk Carrier "CHRIS GR"

On 3 December 2019, the Bulk Carrier "CHRIS GR" (GT 30,632 – DWT 55,715), laden with 51,400 tonnes of brazilian yellow maize in bulk, immobilised due to main engine problem about 20 miles east off Cape Bojeador, Philippines. During the incident the vessel was on passage from Santos, Brazil to Japan. The area had been heavily affected by the Tropical Cyclone "Kammuri". Tsavliris was contracted to provide salvage assistance.

28 Jan 2020 Bulk Carrier "AEOLOS"

On 6 January 2020, the Bulk Carrier "AEOLOS" (GT 19,882 - DWT 31,640), laden with about 19,274 tonnes of steel products, immobilised due to rudder problems 23 miles north-east of Monemvasia, Peloponnese, Greece. During the incident the vessel was on passage from Nemrut Bay and Diliskelesi, Turkey, to San Nikolas and Buenos Aires, Argentina. On the same day, Tsavliris was contracted to provide salvage assistance.

The presentation was on "Shipping Trade & Finance" and the topics discussed included the ordering of new buildings, buying and selling second hand vessels, chartering, insurance, banking, financing and currencies.
