The MEMAC Oil Spill Response Field Safety Manual was developed by the Marine Emergency Mutual Aid Center in April 1999 with the assistance of S.A.M.P.S.O.N & Company and Tsavliris Salvage (International) Ltd. for use by the ROPME Member States when responding to oil spill emergencies with the intent that protection of the marine environment of the ROPME Sea Area can be accomplished while minimizing the hazards to personnel engaged in such efforts. It is intended that once alerted to the various hazards, personnel will be able, through their supervisors , to obtain from this Field Safety Guide the additional information needed to manage the spill response in a safe manner.
